About Pheaks

Pheaks is PH + peaks. That is the whole name: Philippines, and the summits people keep walking toward.

I am Jefferyl Castillo, a hiker who loves exploring and reaching summits. I only started months ago, and I have been on a weekly major hike since then.

I thought about how those trips get organized. Still mostly manual lists, chats, and chasing who had paid. I wondered if I could build a web app where anyone could book a hike, choose the organizer they want, and screen them on ratings before booking (and the other way around).

Ideas kept coming. So did the roadblocks: payment methods, hosting, days of coding, and my weakness, design. There is still a lot to improve on this app, and I am glad the idea came to fruition.

Joiners book a slot, pick an organizer they trust, and show a QR ticket at the jump-off. Organizers publish trips, manage their team, and get paid directly. Coordinators scan people in. Pheaks is live at pheaks.com. It is the marketplace. The organizer still runs the trail day.
